The city of St. Pölten will present itself and its surroundings in the coming year as contemporary, diverse and culturally active. Kultur St. Pölten 2024 will launch numerous activities and cooperations along highly topical, contemporary themes. Over the long term, these will sustainably affect the entire region and position the capital of Lower Austria as a cultural centre in the heart of the region well worth living in.

The diverse projects of Kultur St. Pölten 2024 range from Tangente St. Pölten – Festival for Contemporary Culture to the opening of the new KinderKunstLabor or the restoration of the former synagogue, from the new Grillparzer music and art school campus and the city library to a joint museum card and numerous special exhibitions and cultural programme highlights. The independent scene is equally involved as art and cultural institutions, long-established organisations as well as newly created projects. Visitors from the region as well as national and international guests are invited to discover surprising aspects of the city.

For Kultur St. Pölten 2024, the federal state of Lower Austria and the city of St. Pölten have for the first time launched a joint initiative. One example of the good cooperation is the Domplatz, the city’s largest square, which has been redesigned and already opened. Other measures include building a roof over the Karmeliterhof and the redesign of the Alumnatsgarten, Europaplatz and Promenade. All of these will provide sustainable impulses for a viable cultural development of the entire region.
