Quiet, wild and powerful: The Organ Experimental series started with Kali Malone in the cathedral

The American musician Kali Malone opened the Organ Experimental series on May 2.

The American musician Kali Malone opened the Organ Experimental series on May 2nd The audience was immersed in atmospheric drones, warm silence and hypnotic soundscapes. The composer (born in 1994) was accompanied by Stephen O'Malley for the four-handed pieces on the mighty instrument. An unforgettable evening in St. Pölten Cathedral.

 

As part of Tangente St. Pölten, three artists from the current music scene, taking up three different positions, performed in St. Pölten Cathedral. The opening concert by Kali Malone will be followed on 4th July by Organ Experimental #2 with John Zorn: the music of the US-American composer is breathtaking and is characterized by the spiritual atmosphere that only a pipe organ can create. Elisabeth Schimana will compose the commissioned work "Twilight Zones", which she will perform on October 3rd as a live electronic musician together with St. Pölten Cathedral organist Ludwig Lusser and musicians from the Black Page Orchestra from Vienna.
